Comments from the Chair

As we end this year I want to take a moment to thank the steering committee members and the board for all their hard work and dedication they have given to the neighborhood. I say "thank you" to them and to everyone in the neighborhood who has worked to make this a better place to live, work, and play. We have met every month to discuss neighborhood issues and these folks are always there willing to do whatever it takes to serve you, the neighborhood.   So THANK YOU Mary, Joe, Margaret, Phyllis, Tony, Betty, Linda N, and Skip.   A big thanks also to those who continually work for the betterment of the neighborhood whenever asked. There are too many names to mention individually but we all know who you are.

We have had a great year together and now it is time to think about electing new officers and steering committee members. We will hold an election at our January meeting and if you are interested in serving in some.  We can always use "one more person".

To recap the year, we enjoyed a delightful ice cream social in July. We co-sponsored several political forums with other neighborhood groups, which proved to be very informative. In May we held a plant exchange, and someone even brought a tree to give away. We have enjoyed the fellowship of our neighbors at the general meetings. We worked together to decide what was best for the kids by keeping our neighborhood school, and now several in the area are working on the committee that is working on the remodeling of the school.

2005 brings us much opportunity and I look forward to seeing all of you throughout the coming year. Please feel free to call me anytime at 515-453-7339.
